6.6 National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation

Hawgood Haulage has been an accredited operator in Mass, Maintenance and Basic Fatigue Management for more than 20 years.

Policies, procedures and records are audited every 18 months by NHVR appointed auditors.

As a driver with Hawgood Haulage, you will be trained in your responsibilities within this accreditation scheme which has the aim of keeping the trucking industry safe and minimising the damage to roads.

When you have completed the training material supplied and we are confident that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet those responsibilities, you will be given an ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE and LETTER OF APPROVAL.  These documents are to be carried in your vehicle at all times.

You will also need to ensure the NHVAS stickers are securely attached to your vehicle and that you have an INTERCEPTION BOOK in your truck cab.  If you are asked to stop by TMR or NHVR inspection officers,  you need to offer them this book to complete the form.  They may choose not to do this however, if they do complete the book, you must hand the copy of this form in with your paperwork.

Always ensure:

  1. your daily worksheet is legible and accurate
  2. your rest breaks are recorded
  3. you have. completed & signed off your daily check & fit for duty statement
  4. you are not overloaded on gross mass or axle distributions when you leave the quarry
  5. you have your PBS and road access documentation
  6. you have hard copies or know how to access Accreditation Certificate and Approval Letter
  7. you regularly take split weigh verifications to demonstrate your competency at loading
